Sacramento, CA (September 2, 2017) – The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC earned a draw in Sacramento as Pascal Eboussi earned a late equalizer for the Switchbacks.

Coming off a bye week, the Switchbacks were looking to increase their playoff chances with a trip to Sacramento. The Switchbacks got off to a slow start but were eventually able to recover as the half progressed. Kevuaghn Frater had a number of chances but came up empty. Sacramento finally broke the deadlock in the 37th minutes as Cazarez beat Pouaty to his right into the top corner. The Switchbacks quickly answered as Luke Vercollone slotted home a pass from Masta Kacher to equalize. Unfortunately, the Switchbacks would give up a goal on the final kick of the half as a defensive breakdown led to an open net which Wiesenfarth converted. The Switchbacks would trail 1-2 at halftime.

Both sides had their fair share of chances early in the second half, with both sides getting shots on goal. Sacramento nearly had an opportunity in the 50th minute, but Josh Phillips would come up with a crucial tackle to prevent a chance on Pouaty. Moise Pouaty would have to come up with a big save in the 59th minute as Sacramento tried to chip it over the 6' 3" Cameroonian keeper. The Switchbacks had an opportunity in the 67th-minute as the ball bounced around the box but nothing came of it. Sacramento applied pressure late on the Switchbacks but Pascal Eboussi, coming on as a sub, would get his first goal of the season on a Kacher corner to equalize. The Switchbacks would hold on to take a point from Sacramento on the road in a 2-2 draw. The point keeps the Switchbacks in 7th place in the Western Conference, one point ahead of next week's opponent, Phoenix Rising FC who have four games in hand on the Switchbacks.

The Switchbacks will return home Saturday, September 9th against Phoenix Rising FC with the first 500 fans in attendance receiving the fifth and final piece to the poster series puzzle courtesy of Accelerated Wealth. Tickets start at just $12 and are available here.
