On Saturday August 28th, members of the Switchbacks FC staff, including our very own Ziggy, attended the ninth annual Protect the Children 5K Race/Walk in Monument Valley Park. The race benefits Court Care of the Pikes Peak region, a non-profit dedicated to providing free, drop-in, licensed childcare for children whose parents are called to court for legal proceedings. The program allows children to remain in a fun and safe environment for children ages 6 weeks to 14 years old. The program hosts an average of 4,000 children every year from around the Pikes Peak region.

The Protect the Children 5K was presented in partnership with Pikes Peak Road Runners, and all proceeds went to benefit Court Care. Registration for a team of runners was $25, and children were welcome to attend at no cost. Multiple sponsors showed out to support the event, including Ziggy, who helped cheer on the runners and children throughout the morning.
