On Friday, November 12th, and Saturday November 13th, Weidner Field hosted the CHSAA Boy’s Championship Finals for the 2021 season. Two teams from the four divisions: 2A, 3A, 4A, and 5A, competed for the title of state champions in their division.

This is the third CHSAA event the Switchbacks have hosted at Weidner Field, and family and friends of the competitors turned out in spades to cheer on their specific teams.

From the 2A division, the Crested Butte Titans had a decisive victory over the Lotus School for Excellence. In 3A, we saw a victory for the Roaring Fork Rams over the top seeded Jefferson Academy Jaguars. The 4A division was a tight battle between the one and two seeded teams - the Northfield Nighthawks vs. the Mullen Mustangs - where the Nighthawks snagged their first ever state championship. In the 5A division, the Grandview Wolves also saw their first state championship against the Fossil Ridge Sabercats.

While CHSAA soccer is over for the season, Weidner Field will be hosting the NCAA Division 2 National Championships semifinals and finals in December. Keep an eye on our website at switchbacks.com/tickets to see when NCAA tickets will go on sale.
