2016 Freedom Cup

Colorado Springs, Colorado – Today the Switchbacks FC welcome JJR Consulting GmbH, JJRose Holdings Group LLC and 1. FSV Mainz 05 (a top tier German Bundesliga team) to join us for the first ever Freedom Cup at Switchbacks Stadium on July 12th, 7pm. The Freedom Cup is part of Colorado Cup 2016 which is a vision from Justin and Jason Rose to introduce young Colorado soccer athletes to the quality of German soccer and playing to underscore the freedom that we have to pursue these endeavors.  The success German soccer player development is widely known as they are the keepers of the most recent men’s FIFA World Cup.  The German’s produce a very intelligent and efficient style of player.

“It’s an honor to bring International soccer to Colorado this summer for our Colorado Cup ’16 and the Celebration of Soccer Week…  The Freedom Cup, first of two games, is connected with our social Enterprise, Funding One’s Freedom,” said Jason Rose.  Ed Ragain, Owner of the Colorado Springs Switchbacks, is interested to see how Colorado Springs will respond to this unique opportunity.  “We are excited to play Mainz ’05 on July 12th.  The Rose brothers have a big vision for the game of soccer here in Colorado which aligns well with our endeavors here in Colorado Springs.”


Mainz 05 is a German association football club, founded in 1905 and based in Mainz, Rhineland-Palatinate. 1. FSV Mainz 05 have played in the Bundesliga, the top tier of the German football league system, for seven consecutive years, starting with the 2009-10 season (ref: Wikipedia). The most well known club in America that Mainz 05 faces regularly is FC Bayern Munich (2014 MLS Allstar Opponent) whom Mainz defeated this past season.
