Colorado Springs, CO (May 3, 2017) – The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC officially announced today that Colorado Rapids midfielder Ricardo "Richie" Perez has joined Switchbacks FC on loan.

Perez signed a Homegrown contract with the Rapids on January 6, having spent his collegiate career at Creighton. He netted 15 goals and tallied nine assists in 88 games played at Creighton, which is the third-most matches played in program history.

Perez made his Switchbacks debut last weekend against Seattle Sounders FC 2 at Weidner Field. Perez played all 90 minutes and scored in the 18th minute after a pass from Aaron King.

"I'm familiar with Richie from coaching him in the academy," said Head Coach Steve Trittschuh. "He's one of their homegrown players and I'm expecting a lot of him."

The Switchbacks return to Weidner Field this Friday at 7:00 P.M. for an early-season rematch against Tulsa Roughnecks FC. The first 500 fans 21+ will receive a Switchbacks cap courtesy of Pikes Peak Brewing. Tickets start at just $12 and are available here.
