The Colorado Springs Switchbacks Unified team was split into two groups for their trip to Grand Junction from Friday, June 5, to Sunday, June 7. Switchbacks Team A opened the tournament on Saturday, June 6, with a 2-0 victory over the Aurora Lightning. Christian Campbell-Barrier gave the Switchbacks the lead before halftime on an assist from Yariv Ben-Naim. In the second half, Joe Morrow added a goal of his own to help seal the 2-0 win.
In game two, the two Switchbacks Unified teams went head to head, in which Switchbacks Team A earned a 4-3 win over Switchbacks Team B. Joe Morrow took control of the match, scoring a hat trick, assisted by Ashley Luce (2) and Heidi Barneck (1). Yariv Ben-Naim also added a goal to help give Team A the 4-3 victory. Team B answered with three goals of its own, as Xavier Lopez scored off an assist from Alexsandro Arreguin-Nava, who later found the back of the net twice with assists from Charles Morrison and Lopez.
On the final day of the tournament, Switchbacks Team B finished strong with a 4-1 victory over the Aurora Lightning. Xavier Lopez and Alexsandro Arreguin-Nava each contributed two goals to lead the Switchbacks to a win and close out the tournament on a high note.
Following a great weekend of competition, Switchbacks Team A took home the championship and gold medals, while Team B walked away with silver medals and a second-place finish.
