
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (March 17, 2024) – The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC announced today that Jairo Henriquez has received an international call-up for three friendlies.
Henriquez has been named to the 23-man roster for El Salvador and is in consideration for their 18-man roster. El Salvador is set to face Bonaire in Washington on March 20th at 5 p.m. MT. Following that match, the team will battle Argentina in Philadelphia on March 22nd at 6 pm MT. The last match is set for March 26th at 6:30 MT, against Honduras in Houston, TX.
Henriquez has arrived for national team duty and is anticipated to be absent for the Switchbacks’ upcoming game against San Antonio on Saturday, March 23rd.
This midfielder is most known for his international play, standing for the El Salvador national team on the 2012 and 2013 U-20 teams, the 2014 U21 team, the 2015 U23 team, and making over 30 appearances since 2015 with the El Salvador national team. In 2021 he helped lead the team to a Gold Cup victory over Trinidad and Tobago and won both their rounds for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. He has represented the El Salvador team as Captain several times since 2021. Throughout 2022-2023, he made 18 appearances in international friendlies, CONCACAF Nations League A and the Gold Cup.
Henriquez returned for his third season with the Switchbacks. In 2023, Henriquez made quite a memorable and impressive impact on the team by making 23 appearances, scoring six goals, having two assists, and playing a total of 1,449 minutes.
