Colorado Springs, CO (November 15, 2016) – The Switchbacks FC announce the return of Defender Josh Suggs for the 2017 season pending league and USSF approval.
2016 was a successful first season with the Switchbacks for Suggs. At 2648 minutes, Josh had the highest amount of playing time of anyone on the team. This served him well as he went on to be named USL All-League Second Team. With 2 goals, 4 assists, and 8 points, Suggs proved to be a valuable asset to the Switchbacks.

2016 was a successful first season with the Switchbacks for Suggs. At 2648 minutes, Josh had the highest amount of playing time of anyone on the team. This served him well as he went on to be named USL All-League Second Team. With 2 goals, 4 assists, and 8 points, Suggs proved to be a valuable asset to the Switchbacks.
Suggs is entering his 7th professional season. He began his career with the Los Angeles Blues (now Orange County Blues) in 2011. Suggs signed with the San Jose Earthquakes in 2012 (MLS) and then was loaned to the Tamp Bay Rowdies (NASL). He would then return to the Los Angeles Blues (USL ) in 2012 before moving on to play for the Atlanta Silverbacks (NASL) in 2013.
He spent the 2014 and 2015 seasons with the Orange County Blues (USL) where he appeared in 43 matches including 2,239 minutes played in 2015 when he claimed a western conference regular season title as the team’s captain. Suggs was a member of the New Mexico Olympic Development Program State Team for five years, Before going on to play four years of college soccer at Humboldt State University (Division II).
“Josh had a very good season, enough to get him recognized on 2nd team All USL,” said Head Coach Steve Trittschuh. “He was a big part of our attack when he went forward out of his position. I expect more from him next season and to dominate that left side.”
