Colorado Springs, CO (November 8, 2016) – The Switchbacks FC are proud to announce that they have picked up Jordan Burt’s option and he will be returning to Colorado Springs in 2017 pending league and USSF approval.
In 2014 Burt played in the North American Soccer League (NASL) for the Carolina Railhawks. Before that, he played in Colorado for the Foxes (PDL) in 2013. He has also played for Seattle Crossfire (PDL) in 2012, Southern California Seahorses (PDL) in 2011, and Rochester Thunder (PDL) in 2010. Through college (2009-2013), Jordan played for Butler University where he was team captain for three years.
In 2015 Burt appeared in 25 matches for the Switchbacks where he played a total of 1,742 minutes and provided 2 assists. He also received the BackChat “Young Player Of The Year” award at the conclusion of the Switchbacks 2015 season.
In the 2016 Switchbacks season, Burt saw a dramatic increase in minutes played at 2,413. This influx of minutes helped to increase his goals (1) and points (4), while his assists (2) stayed consistent with 2015.
“Jordan was one of our most consistent players last season in defense but also getting into the attack,” says Head Coach Steve Trittschuh. “We look forward to him coming back for another season and being productive again.”
