Colorado Springs, CO (March 16, 2017) – The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC have completed the transfer of Cameroonian goalkeeper, Moise Pouaty, and Cameroonian defender, Pascal Eboussi, pending receipt of their International Transfer Certificates.
"Both Moise and Pascal are young and exciting players. They were brought in to solidify our team and add to the quality of players we have on the roster. We expect big things from both of them," said Head Coach Steve Trittschuh.
Pouaty, 21, will join the Switchbacks after his recent call up to the Cameroon senior National Team against Tunisia on March 24. This will be the Lions' first friendly since winning the 2017 African Cup of Nations. Pouaty is then set to bring his international experience and goalkeeping talents to the USL where he hopes to make an immediate impact for Colorado Springs.
Eboussi, 19, joins the Switchbacks as one of Cameroon’s most exciting young center back prospects; he looks to continue developing that talent and potential in USL this season. As a strong and aggressive defender, Pascal will immediately add an athletic presence in the Switchbacks’ defense. Ebousse has trained with Rainbow FC Bamenda in Cameroon. Eboussi was recently recognized and awarded a spot in the Crystal Palace XI – a combine event identifying the best young footballing talents in Cameroon.
"I felt really welcome as soon as I got to the airport. I feel like this team feels like a family. I am ready to prove who I really am on the field," said Pascal on arriving in Colorado Springs. "I am well aware if I listen to the coaches I will reach my full potential."
The Switchbacks FC will be finishing off their preseason on Saturday, March 18th, at Weidner Field against the Harpo's FC for a 7 PM kickoff (SFC v Harpo's Tickets). The Switchbacks will then kick off their 2017 USL campaign against the Roughnecks in Tulsa, Oklahoma on March 25th before returning to Weidner Field for their home opener on April 1st against Oklahoma City Energy FC (Home Opener Tickets).
