Colorado Springs Switchbacks Win 2-1 Back At Home Territory Against Birmingham Legion
COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO (August 4th, 2023) – The Colorado Springs Switchbacks earned three points tonight with a win against Birmingham Legion 2-1.
With the Switchbacks back at home, the team needed to make a statement for how the game would go. In the 11′, #11 Deshane Beckford sped past all the defenders which gave him a one on one opportunity with the goalie, and scored a beauty of a goal right in the back of the net.
Coming into the second half, Birmingham Legion player #11 Neco Brett tied the game with a bicycle kick that sent the ball into the net. But the good guys kept the spirit alive with three shots on target.
The battle was on to whoever could score the next goal and change the atmosphere of the game. #27 Juan Tejada was on a mission to break the tie and with the help of #7 Tyreek Magee, Magee crossed the ball over to connect with Tejada to score a header.
