Colorado Springs, CO (September 8, 2026) — The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC announced today that Khori Bennett has been named to the USL Championship’s Team of the Week and Brennan Creek to the Team of the Week Bench, presented by SiteOne, for week 27 of the 2026 season.
Bennett played a pivotal role in the victory, scoring twice to help Colorado Springs secure all three points. The forward opened the scoring in the 17′, as #3 Jabari De Coteau carried the ball forward from just beyond the center line before delivering a pinpoint cross into the box. Rising above the defense, Bennett powered a header past the goalkeeper to give the Switchbacks an early lead.
Bennett completed his brace in dramatic fashion in the 90+6′. After Colorado Springs was awarded a penalty kick, Bennett stepped up to the spot and calmly placed his attempt into the bottom-right corner, just beyond the goalkeeper’s reach, sealing the 5-4 victory.
Beyond his two goals, Bennett created three key chances, won four of six aerial duels and recorded a 70% passing accuracy throughout the match.
Creek also delivered a crucial performance for Colorado Springs, scoring in the 84′, to bring the Switchbacks level once again and keep the team’s momentum alive heading into the final minutes. #17 Sadam Masereka weaved through multiple Loudoun defenders before finding Creek at the top of the attack. Creek made no mistake, firing a shot into the net.
Throughout the match, Creek won all three of his tackles, recorded two interceptions and completed 40 accurate passes, playing an important role on both sides of the ball.
The five-goal performance marked the first time Colorado Springs had scored five goals in a USL Championship match since August 15, 2021, when the Switchbacks defeated Rio Grande Valley FC 5-2.
