Colorado Springs, CO (September 15, 2026) — The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC announced today that Frank Daroma has been named to the USL Championship’s Team of the Week and Talen Maples to the Team of the Week Bench, presented by SiteOne, for week 28 of the 2026 season.
Daroma played a key role in the win against San Antonio FC on Friday night, earning an assist. Daroma gained possession and dribbled into the box before making a pass splitting two San Antonio defenders, finding Khori Bennett right in front of the net, extending the Switchbacks’ advantage to 2-0 in the 70’. Defensively, Daroma won two out of two tackles, made a key interception, and held a passing accuracy of 86%
Maples also delivered a crucial performance for Colorado Springs, earning an assist for the first goal of the night. Maples delivered a ball from the center line to Jonas Fjeldberg, who fired a shot from just inside the box past San Antonio goalkeeper Joey Batrouni and into the bottom left corner of the net. This defender made 50 accurate passes, the highest on the team for the night, and made 3 clearances.
