For those of you who are not familiar with USL PRO this is going to be a quick lesson. For the 2014 season there are 14 teams scattered around the country. Charleston, Charlotte, Dayton, Harrisburg, Pittsburgh, Richmond, Rochester, Orlando and Wilmington are all east of the Mississippi river. Arizona United, LA Galaxy II, Oklahoma City, Orange County and Sacramento are the western teams. Orlando will be moving on to the MLS next season, but the USL has already confirmed us (Colorado Springs), Tulsa and St. Louis as expansion teams. There have been rumors about a team in Detroit and also a few more MLS sides putting teams in themselves.\r\nThe 2014 season, the USL and MLS Reserve League teams have a partnership that will include interleague play between the two leagues and the establishment of several exclusive team affiliations. “This affiliation represents the first step in a long-term alliance between USL PRO and MLS to connect domestic professional soccer through a system that benefits player development competition and the overall business of our sport,” MLS Executive Vice President of Player Relations & Competition Todd Durbin said.\r\nThis is an exciting time for USL PRO and soccer in general in the United States. There is a great emphasis on developing players for not only the MLS but also for the United States National Team. Through this affiliation with USL PRO we will be developing these players in the coming years. The USL PRO league will continue to grow and possibly there could be 20 teams in the league next season full of players that are trying to play at the top level in the United States.\r\nFor more information about USL PRO go to uslsoccer.com.\r\nSo get out in 2015 and support the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC!
