On June 24th, a record crowd of 4,429 saw the Colorado Springs Switchbacks hand San Antonio FC their first loss of the season at Weidner Field. Of those 4,429 in attendance, 800 were from Coldwell Banker.
With recent renovations to expand seating at Weidner Field, the Switchbacks increased their capacity to just over 5,000 for the 2017 season. Along with additional benefits, the Switchbacks aimed to draw large corporate outings this season. Coldwell Banker proved to be the perfect opportunity.
"When we first talked to the Switchbacks about having our yearly company summer party at Weidner Field several of our agents were concerned about the stadium's ability to serve our clients with food, seating for 800, and interest in professional soccer," said Chris Lutyen from Coldwell Banker. "Everyone had a great evening and exciting experience. Clients and agents were entertained in a comfortable environment and non-stop soccer action for 90 minutes. Some of the best moments of the evening were after the match and watching children getting autographs and photos with the players along with the post-match fireworks show. Thanks to the additional 800 spectators from Coldwell Banker, the Switchbacks were able to meet their goal of setting a record attendance at the match in a thrilling 1-0 victory that saw the Switchbacks end San Antonio FC's 14 game unbeaten streak thanks to Sean McFarlane's first-half stoppage time goal.
