Irvine, CA (August 8, 2017) – The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC defeated Orange County 4-0 on the road for their 3rd straight win.
Switchbacks started the match getting a feel for OCSC, but quickly stepped up their game to score three first half goals for the second straight game. The first goal came from Luke Vercollone in the 19th minute. The second goal came just minutes later in the 22nd minute by Shane Malcolm. The action didn't stop there as the Switchbacks kept the pressure up on Orange County with Masta Kacher scoring the final goal of the half in the 39th minute. The Switchback would take a 3-0 halftime lead for the second game in a row.
The second half started off with Moise Pouaty keeping the Switchbacks in the lead with a couple brilliant saves. There was a lot possession movement back and forth on the field. Then in the 71st minute Kevaughn Frater scored a spectacular goal bringing the score up to 4-0 Switchbacks. The switchbacks were able to hold off OCSC and end the game with a 4-0 victory.
The Switchbacks will now travel to Salt Lake City to face Real Monarchs on August 15th. The Switchbacks will return home to Weidner Field on August 18th as they host LA Galaxy II for Superhero Night with post-match fireworks presented by Children's Hospital Colorado, Colorado Springs.
