Salt Lake City, UT (August 12, 2017) – The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC lose to Salt Lake City Real Monarchs 2-0 on the road.
Switchbacks had a rough start to the match with SLC scoring a goal in the first 3 minutes. There was a lot of back and forth movement on the field till the 14th minute when SLC scored there second goal. Then during the 21st minute there were three yellow cards called two against SLC and one against Sean McFarlane. Late in the first half the Switchbacks had many attempts on the SLC goal but to no avail.
The second half started off with a lot of back and forth movement on the field. Moise Pouaty fended off SLC with several saves early in the second half. Then in the 71'st minute a red card was called on on SLC's Chase Minter, this game helped them to fend off SLC for the rest of the game and even make several close goal attempts. The game ended with a Switchbacks holding off all attacks in the second half to finish with a score of 2-0 SLC.
The Switchbacks will return home to Weidner Field next week on August 18th as they host LA Galaxy II for Superhero Night with post-match fireworks presented by Children's Hospital Colorado, Colorado Springs. Tickets start at just $12 and are available here.
