Colorado Springs, CO (November 22, 2021) – Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC forward, Hadji Barry, was named to the USL Championship All League First Team for 2021.
Hadji Barry's incredible regular season with the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC concluded with the Golden Boot award as Barry equaled the USL Championship's single-season goal scoring record with 25 goals during the 2021 campaign. With a goal averaged every 115 minutes and 5 assists, Barry was instrumental in helping to lead the team to a playoff position.
"It's really an honor being recognized as one of the top players in the USL this year," said Barry upon hearing the announcement. "This is another reward of the great season I've had, and the hard work and dedication I've put in this year. But like I've always said, none of this would have been possible without the help of my teammates and my coaching staff. I'm very thankful having them by my side because they really push me every day to be the best player I can be, and I'm very grateful for them."
Head Coach Brendan Burke also spoke about the impact Barry has had on the team this season, "Hadji led our team in many different ways this year on his way to a historic feat individually. He became the face of a franchise and deservedly so. We are thrilled to have the chance to work with him and watch him play again in Colorado Springs next year."
The Switchbacks FC announced in July that they and Barry had agreed to a two year contract extension, keeping the forward at the club through the 2023 season.
