On Tuesday December 7th, members of the Colorado Springs Switchbacks staff headed to Springs Rescue Mission to volunteer for the afternoon.
The outing started with a tour of Springs Rescue Mission's 13,000 square foot facility, followed by an afternoon of working in the kitchens at the Dining Center.
Springs Rescue Mission opened in 1996 when their founders began providing sandwiches to people in Colorado Springs who were experiencing homelessness. This quickly grew into the range of programs they have now who exist to serve the 27,000 households living below the poverty line in the Pikes Peak Region.
The Switchbacks FC organization is proud to provide support to their neighbors and friends in Colorado Springs. To volunteer at SPR, or learn more about their services, head to: springsrescuemission.org.
