“I’m looking forward to winning the championship and letting the world see what I can do,” said Magee on his return.
A midfielder who joined the team midseason last May, Magee quickly made an impact with the team, playing just over 1,000 minutes in 25 games through the season. A versatile midfielder, Magee held an average passing accuracy of 84.4% and 26 key passes, in addition to notching three goals and two assists for himself. Magee was also named to Team of the Week for the USL Championship for week 24.
Before joining the Switchbacks in May 2023, the 24 year old played for KAS Eupen, where he made five appearances for the Belgian side, all of which were substitutions. He competed for 88 minutes among those appearances.
The native of Kingston, Jamaica is also a member of the Jamaican Men’s National Team, with whom he has competed in four different international competitions, the most notable being the 2019 Gold Cup, and qualification matches for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. He has appeared in nine matches, starting three, for the Reggae Boyz tallying 368 minutes.
“Tyreek has produced some moments of magic for us last season,” said Assistant Coach James Chambers. “He has tremendous ability on the ball that is enjoyable to watch at times. We are excited to have him return for 2024. With a full pre-season under his belt, we look forward to him continuing to develop to his full potential”
