(Colorado Springs, CO – February 24, 2016) – The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC announced its “Be the Voice of the Switchbacks FC National Anthem Contest” today for the 2016 season.
The Switchbacks FC are calling all vocalists where up to 10 winners will be selected to perform the National Anthem at Switchbacks Stadium for the team’s United Soccer League home matches.
This promotion is an online social media contest that begins at noon on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 and contestants have until noon on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 to upload a video of themselves performing the National Anthem. Contestants should upload their videos to @SwitchbacksFC Twitter page. Video must be a minimum of 30 seconds.
The contest is open to all ages, individuals, duets, or groups and finalists will be narrowed down by retweets, likes, and positive comments. All vocal submissions should be a cappella and only traditional renditions of the anthem will be considered. A Switchbacks committee will choose 20 finalists and then open those videos to online fan voting for selection of the winners.
Winners will perform the national anthem live prior to the start of each of the 15 Switchbacks FC home matches, their video posted on our website and social media along with their name and photo to appear in our local newsletter prior to each home match.
