As part of a promotion on "Scout Night", June 24th at Weidner Field. Josh Phillips got the opportunity to camp out with local scouts at Weidner Field, and then picked a troop to spend the day fishing with on the Tarryall River.
Recently, Josh Phillips took Troop 53 on a fly fishing trip on the Tarryall River where he gave them pointers on the best fly fishing techniques.
"It's an amazing privilege to be a professional athlete in Colorado," said Phillips. "The mountains are in our back yard. I can't think of a better way to spend an afternoon after training than taking a couple of young scouts from troop 53 and teach them about fly fishing."
Phillips is an avid fly fisherman who takes multiple trips to the Tarryall river along with teammates Josh Suggs and Jordan Burt. The trip with Troop 53 was a continuation of a relationship the Switchbacks have built with local scouts.
