The Switchbacks visited St. Francis Medical Center on June 8th to meet patients and associates and they brought some special guests with them! Jordan Schweitzer and Karsten Hanlin were accompanied by members of the 501st Legion, the Rebel Legion, and the Mandalorian Mercs Costume Club as they brought smiles to the unsuspecting faces on Friday afternoon. The children couldn’t be more excited when they received their own red and blue Sabers and Ziggy dolls from the professional soccer players and real-life Star Wars’ characters. And of course, Chewbacca impressions had to be exchanged!
“It’s always a great experience to give back. It’s a nice break from soccer to be able to come and spend time with kids and try to make their day a little bit better,” said midfielder Karsten Hanlin. “Often times when we have opportunities like this I think we enjoy it just as much as the kids do, and today was definitely one of those days.”
