On September 15th the Switchbacks FC and Colorado Technical University honored purple heart recipient Dr. David Andrews at halftime! The purple heart award is the oldest Military Award. It was originally introduced by General George Washington as the Badge of Military Merit in 1782. The Purple Heart is one of the most respected medals one can receive. It is a decoration presented in the name of the President of the United States to recognize military members that have been killed or wounded in battle.
