On Sunday, May 30th, Weidner Field hosted the graduation ceremony of the 2020 graduating class at Colorado College.
Over 5,000 students attended the graduation, along with thousands more family and friends. The graduating class of 2020 had their official graduation ceremony cancelled last year due to COVID, so while they had already received their diplomas and entered the workforce, the gesture from the college to have an in-person ceremony was appreciated by many.
It was a beautiful sunny day at Weidner Field, and many families, filled with joy at the graduation proceedings, commented on how beautiful the brand-new Weidner Field was.
Weidner Field, home of the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC, hosted their inaugural home opener game last weekend on the 21st, to a nearly sold-out crowd of 8,000 fans.
