Colorado Springs, CO (April 4, 2023) – The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC and the USL Championship officially announced today that Christian Herrera has been named to the Team of the Week for Week 4 of the 2023 season, presented by Konami eFootball.
Christian Herrera earned team of the week honors after an incredible performance on Saturday night, earning his first shutout of the season in the team’s 1-0 vitcory against Loudon United on Saturday night. Herrera made seven saves throughout the match, four of which occurred inside the penalty area.
Also of note, Matt Mahoney and Deshane Beckford were both named to the bench for the Week 4 Team of Week. Mahoney won three of three tackles, as well as three of five duels, in Saturday night’s contest. Beckford earned his third assist of the season, and recorded five of the team’s 11 shots during the night, as well as holding a passing accuracy of 80%.
The Switchbacks are 2-1-1 in the league, sitting at no.4 slot in the Western Conference with seven points.
