Colorado Springs, CO (August 22nd, 2023) – The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC and the USL Championship officially announced today that Tyreek Magee and Juan Tejada have been named to the Team of the Week for Week 24 of the 2023 season, presented by Konami eFootball.
Tyreek Magee and Juan Tejada played a phenomenal game on Saturday, August 19th’s match against the Oakland Roots. The 2-3 final score was a major win for the Switchbacks and two goals came from Magee, finally giving the team a win on the road.
Magee made his very first goal of the season in the 40′. The good guys were passing with such precision and were able to block any interception attempts which gave Juan Tejada the chance to sneak the ball to Magee who scored from the 18.
Going into the second half, Magee was itching to make another goal and with Tejada dodging swiftly through a defender he passed the ball straight to Magee who then struck the ball 25 yards into the right corner of the net giving the Switchbacks the game-winning goal.
The Colorado Springs Switchbacks will stay on the road for the next match but will be back home on September 2nd as they head against Louisville City FC for our soccer for all night! For tickets to that match, and all others, head HERE.
