COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO (October 14th, 2023) – The Colorado Springs Switchbacks battled their last 2023 regular season match here at home against Phoenix Rising FC ending with a final score of 2-0.
The Switchbacks started the match off with a bang! In the 12′, #14 Duke LaCroix carefully brought the ball inside the 18, and with a quick pass to #27 Juan Tejada, Tejada hit the ball at an angle sending it straight into the net.
With everything on the line to keep 5th place in the Western Conference standings, the atmosphere was electric at Weidner Field. In the 29′, #8 Jay Chapman swiftly passed the ball to #17 Jairo Henriquez quickly spun around rocketed the ball from outside the box, giving the Switchbacks the second goal of the night.
Throughout the second half, the good guys were determined to keep Phoenix Rising from even attempting a single shot on target, won four tackles, and had four interceptions.
