Switchbacks FC Sign Midfielder Rony Argueta

The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC announced today the signing of Rony Argueta for the 2019 season, pending USL Championship and USSF approval.
"I am glad that I was able to get Rony to come back to the Switchbacks. He had a lot of success here and I know he will help us in the 2019 season," said Switchbacks FC head coach, Steve Trittschuh. "He is a natural leader and quality player, and he will bring a good competitive mentality back to the team."

Argueta, 27, was a member of the Switchbacks during the 2015, 2016, and 2017 seasons, and served as team captain during the 2017 campaign. Throughout his professional career, the defensive midfielder has amassed seven goals and five assists in 110 appearances in the USL and with Celaya Football Club of Mexico's second division. He arrives in Colorado Springs after spending one season with Fresno Football Club of the USL. Argueta will wear number 6 for the Switchbacks in 2019.

I’m looking forward to working with the Rapids, as our new affiliates, and seeing the construction of the new stadium for 2020. Switchbacks FC & iHeart Radio Give Back To The USO
On November 28th the Switchbacks FC and our crazy mascot Ziggy came out to the Ft. Carson’s USO (United Service Organization) to present the USO with a One-Thousand-dollar check form the Switchbacks FC and iHeart Radio. The Money was raised during the Granger Smith concert that happened earlier this year and the check was presented as the USO Concert giveback. The USO plans to use the money to help with their facilities as well as amenities for the troops there at the FT. Carson USO. Ziggy then went on to serve pizza and visit with the soldiers and their families! The Switchbacks FC love to take every opportunity to give back to those who give so much for this great country.

Ziggy Visited Families At The Turkey Skate!
On November 21st the Switchbacks FC and Ziggy came out to the World Arena to show off our skating skills at the Annual Turkey Skate Which was presented by Kaiser Permanente. The event was awesome with tons of things to keep both kids and parents entertained. The Turkey Skate was a great success with hundreds of people in attendance for some fun on the ice and an early opportunity to burn off that Thanksgiving Day meal before you eat it. The event had everything you could ask for which included a DJ, complimentary hot beverages, and of course the highlight of the event Ziggy and the other mascots from around the city!

On Saturday November 10th the Switchbacks FC and Ziggy came out for the Foxy mom’s Expo at the Antlers Hotel in Downtown Colorado Springs. Ziggy was out handing out Switchbacks Information and showing off his skills on the dance floor. The Foxy Moms Expo was an exciting day filled with shopping, pampering, and ideas from local businesses. There was great local food, live music and entertainment, guest speakers, prize giveaways, demonstrations, and a fashion show highlighting the latest trends in apparel and accessories for the Foxy Moms of Southern Colorado!

On October 29th the Switchbacks FC and our Crazy Mascot Ziggy came out to the Trunk or Treat event located at the Texas Roadhouse off Powers Blvd. The event was a huge success with about a hundred kids and parents attending in their scary costumes. Ziggy came out to entertain the kids and show off his awesome new dance moves. The Trunk or treat was packed with fun which included games, vendors, a bounce house, face painter, balloon artist, and of course candy! We here at the Switchbacks FC love the opportunity to come out and spend time with the kids.

On October 26th the Switchbacks FC and our Crazy Mascot Ziggy came out to the YMCA Trunk-Or-Treat event located in the parking garage of the Downtown YMCA. The Event was awesome with hundreds of kids and parents attending in their best costumes. The Trunk or Treat was great with the participants decorating their cars while the kids went around trick or treating in their Scary Halloween Costumes. Ziggy was out entertaining the kids, handing out candy and showing off his Dance moves. The event was capped off with a showing of the It’s a great pumpkin Charlie Brown. The Switchbacks FC enjoy every opportunity to come out and spend time with the future soccer players of this great city.
