The United Soccer League officially announced today that Switchbacks' forward Kevaughn Frater was named the USL Player of the Week following his two-goal performance against LA Galaxy II. Frater received 45 percent of the poll conducted by a national panel of independent media representing every USL market.
Frater scored the first goal in the 65th-minute on a headed pass from Masta Kacher to give the Switchbacks a 1-0 lead. He would then head one another goal just before the end of the 90 minutes on a cross from Conner Bevans. The late goal gave the Switchbacks their first ever win at the StubHub Center against LA Galaxy II. This marks the third week in a row a Switchbacks player has landed on the team of the week (Jordan Burt – Week 10, Rony Argueta – Week 11).
