COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Dec. 1, 2022) – The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC announced today it has completed the transfer of midfielder Cam Lindley to Indy Eleven FC for an undisclosed cash sum. Per league policy, the details of the transfer have not been made public and is pending league and federation approval.
“I want to thank the staff, the players, and the front office for everything they did for the group this past year. I am so thankful for all the support we had this year from the fans as well,” said Lindley regarding the transfer. “2022 was a historic year for the club and I’m happy I got to play a part in it. But it’s important for me and my wife to raise our child around our family back home. Colorado Springs will always have a place in my heart.”
The Indiana native returns to his home town roots after a dominating season with the Switchbacks for the 2022 campaign. He made 34 appearances with a huge 2,848 minutes played. A complete midfielder, Lindley led the league in assists with nine, and successfully completed 99 key passes. He made 39 clearances, and had a pass success rate of over 80%, with an average of 57 passes per game. He also notched two goals, including an impressive free kick that broke open the lead for the Switchbacks 3-1 win against LA in their June match.
“Cam [Lindley] was an excellent addition to our club last year and helped us reach a new level on the field; he was great to work with everyday,” said Head Coach and GM Brendan Burke. “We honored Cam’s request to get home for the betterment of his growing family, and we hope this move for him and his family is smooth and allows him to stay at the level he was at this year with us.”
